Player shops guide

Sell to other players and buy what you need: open your own shop, set up chest shops, make offers and post delivery requests. Open the menu in game with /shops.

Commands

Everything happens in menus, so these are the only commands you need.

Player shop commands
CommandWhat it does
/shopsOpens the shops menu: browse every player's shop, or create and manage your own. /playershops works too.
/shops sell <price>Lists the item in your hand in your shop at that price each. You need a shop first.
/deliveryOpens the delivery board, where players pay others to bring them items.
/inboxOpens your inbox to claim money, returned items and refunds.
/pmOpens the main Market menu with shortcuts to everything above, plus search and My Listings.

Buying from shops

  1. Browse the shops

Type /shops and click Browse Shops. Every shop shows its name, shop number and owner.

  2. Open a shop

Click a shop to see what it sells. Each item shows its price, its stock and the seller.

  3. Pick an amount

Click an item, then use the buttons to choose how many you want. The total price updates as you go.

  4. Buy it

Click Click to buy. The money comes from your balance and the items go into your inventory. If your inventory is full, the rest waits in your inbox.

Search and sort

Looking for something specific? Open /pm, click Search and then Search Shops, and type an item name, item type or player name in chat. Inside a shop you can also search just that shop.

Use the sort button to order items by creation date, seller name, price or item name. Left-click to change what it sorts by, right-click to switch between ascending and descending.

Opening a shop

Your shop lives in the /shops menu, so other players can buy from it from anywhere, even when you are offline. You can own up to 4 shops, for example one for building blocks and one for gear.

  1. Create your shop

Type /shops, click My Shops, then Create Player Shop. Type a name in chat (up to 32 characters).

  2. Add an item

Click your shop, then Add Item, and click the item in your inventory you want to sell. Or hold it and type /shops sell <price>.

  3. Set the price

Use the buttons, or Custom Price Each to type a number in chat. The Market Average shows what that item recently sold for, and you can click it to use that price.

  4. Make it yours

In Manage Shop you can rename the shop, set a short description for the shop list, and set its icon to the item in your hand.

Managing your listings

Open /pm and click My Listings, or click Manage Listings inside one of your shops. On each listing:

Listing controls
ActionWhat it does
Left-clickCancels the listing. The items go back to your inbox.
Right-clickChanges the price.
Shift + right-clickShows offers players have made on it.
Press Q (drop)Restocks it. Place matching items in the slots and click Add to Listing. A listing holds up to 9 stacks.

A listing stays up for 10 days. When it expires, the unsold items go to your inbox. A shop with nothing in it for 14 days is deleted automatically, and you can delete one yourself from Manage Shop once it is empty.

Chest shops

A chest shop is a real chest in the world that sells its contents. Players walk up, click it and buy. A floating item and a sign above the chest show what it sells, how many are left and the price each.

  1. Pick a spot

Place a chest inside your land so nobody else can break it. Chest shops can't be made at spawn, in the Nether or in the End.

  2. Turn it into a shop

Hold the item you want to sell and Shift + left-click the chest. Or use /shops, My Shops, Create Chest Shop and click the chest.

  3. Set the price

Choose the price for each item and click Create Chest Shop.

  4. Stock it

Put the items in the chest. You can also feed it with a hopper so it restocks itself from a farm.

Click your own chest shop to manage it. From there you can restock it, see recent sales, items sold and total profit, turn sale notifications and the floating sign on or off, link it to a shop, or destroy it. You can own up to 8 chest shops.

Sign shops

A sign shop is a chest shop you set up with a sign, and it lets you sell items in bundles, for example 16 arrows for one price.

  1. Place a sign

Place any sign on the chest you want to sell from.

  2. Write the details

Line 1: [shop]. Line 2: the price for one purchase. Line 3: how many items each purchase gives.

  3. Choose the item

Click Done. A menu opens where you click the item you want to sell from your inventory.

  4. Stock it

Put the items in the chest. Sign shops follow the same rules and limits as chest shops.

Shops on your land

Your land's roles decide who can make and use chest and sign shops inside it. Owners, admins and members can create shops and buy from them.

Let visitors buy from your shops. Players who aren't trusted in your land can't buy from your chest or sign shops until you allow it. Type /lands, open Roles, pick Untrusted, open Action Flags and turn on Chest Shop Purchases. Do the same for the Ally and Nation roles if you want them to buy too.

Want a trusted player to run shops in your land? Their role needs Chest Shop Creation, which members have by default. More about roles in the lands guide.

Linking a chest shop

Linking puts your chest shop's item into one of your /shops shops too, so players can buy it from anywhere without walking to your chest. Stock is taken straight from the chest, and a linked listing never expires.

Click your chest shop, click Link shop and pick which of your shops to list it in. Linking is free, and you can link up to 2 chest shops.

Making offers

Think the price is too high? On the buy screen, click Make Offer, choose the amount and your price, and click Send Offer. The money is held from your balance while the seller decides.

  • If the seller accepts, you get the items and they get the money.
  • If they decline, or you cancel the offer, your money goes back to your inbox.
  • Sellers are told about new offers when they log in. Shift + right-click a listing in My Listings to review them.

Delivery board

The delivery board works the other way round: instead of selling, you post what you want and other players bring it to you. Open it with /delivery.

Request items

Click Create Request, choose the item, how many you need and what you will pay for each, then click Create Request. The full amount is held from your balance straight away, so deliverers know they will be paid. You can have 2 requests open at once, and each lasts 10 days. When one expires or you cancel it, the unused money goes to your inbox.

Deliver items

Click Browse Requests to see what players need and how much they pay. Click a request, choose how many to deliver (you don't have to fill all of it) and click Deliver Now. The items leave your inventory and you are paid instantly.

Your inbox

Your inbox holds anything the market couldn't hand you directly. Open it with /inbox and click each entry to claim it. You'll find:

  • Items from listings that expired or that you cancelled
  • Refunds from declined or cancelled offers and from delivery requests
  • Items you bought while your inventory was full
  • Money from sales that couldn't be paid out straight away

You'll get a message when you log in if anything is waiting. Make room in your inventory before claiming items.

Tips

Check the Market Average before you set a price. Pricing a little under it gets your items sold first. For things you sell in bulk, a chest shop fed by a hopper from your farm and linked to your shop keeps you selling while you're offline.

Auctions run on a separate system, so the Auction House button in /pm isn't used here.
